I live in Santa Paula, California which is about 50 miles north of Los Angeles. Susan and I have been married since 1989. I have six children Pam, Suzanne, Sandra, Phil jr., Chris, and Sarah. She has three children Kathleen, Jim, and Jesse.

Days in the life of Walt Rockwell - 1955 to 2005

United States Air Force Days - 1955-1959
Stationed in Portsmouth, Guam, and Bangor.  Guido and I were stationed in Portsmouth together.  In 1957, in a coffee shop on the flight line in Yakota, Japan I ran into Lefty Van Huesen (aka Wally).   During the same year, Walt Rush and I were stationed on Guam.   (It's a small world after all.)

Danbury Days - 1959-1966
Got married, had three daughters and lived in Danbury.   Worked for  R.F. Products on E. Franklin Street, National Semiconductor on North Street, E.F. Connectors on Ridgefield Road, and for  Schlumberger in Ridgefield. Schlumberger hired me as a Junior Computer Programmer Trainee and I learned to program computers using FORTRAN.  ( I smashed the Schlumberger math test because of a book on Binary Numbers that I checked out from the Danbury library.  Life is like a box of chocolates!)

San Diego (Chula Vista) Days - 1966-1972
My family and I moved to San Diego, California where my son Phil jr. was born.  Worked as a programmer for Rohr Aircraft.  Hired by the Department of the Navy in 1967 as a Computer Programmer.  During these six years I traveled half-way-round the world from Newport, Norfolk, and Waukegan, to Oahu, Guam, and the Philippines.   (That's probably a little less than half-way-round, but who's counting?)

Camarillo - Ventura - Santa Paula Days  - 1972-2005
Transferred to Port Hueneme, California (60 miles north of LA) and continued working for the government as a Computer Systems Analyst.  Christopher and Sarah were born.  On a trip to Washington DC I took a detour to visit my parents.   While in Danbury, Vinnie Talerico, Vinnie Tangredi, Guido Tino, Tom Evagash, and I met at the Elks, had a few beers and talked about old times.
When my youngest son was three he super glued his eye shut.  At the hospital
they put him to sleep and cut his eye lashes off.  The nurse in the recovery room was from Bethel and went thru nurse's training with Joni Pauli.  I remember dancing with Joni at the War Memorial.   My marriage ended in 1983.
In 1989, I married Susan Marie Adams.  Man, was I lucky.  In July 2005, Chris married Jana and our family expanded.  We spent the next weekend with Jana's aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandmother at a German folk dance competition in Los Angeles.  They invited us to Chicago in 2006 for October Fest.
